Questions & answers

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Save files locally when the save button is greyed out in Microsoft Office. Room Admins can place printing, saving and editing restrictions on specific PDFs and Microsoft Office files. If the Admin has chosen not to allow saving and editing to a specific, the save button will be greyed out.
Save a picture or other image as a separate file Control-click the illustration that you want to save as a separate image file, and then click Save as Picture. In the Save as type list, select the file format that you want. In the Save As box, type a new name for the picture, or just accept the suggested file name.
How to Convert Word Documents Into Images (jpg, png, gif, tiff) Select what you'd like to save as an image. Copy your selection. Open a new document. Paste special. Select "Picture." Right-click the resulting image and select "Save as Picture." Select your desired format from the dropdown menu.
There's no built-in option to save a Word document as an image file. To save it as a JPEG, you'll need to use a screenshotting tool. This'll allow you to copy a single Word page and save it as an image.
Double-click the picture to add it to your Word document. Back on Word's editing screen, right-click the image that you just added and select Wrap Text > In Front of Text from the menu. Your picture is now freely movable. Drag and drop it anywhere you want in your document.
In the upper left-hand corner there is now an AutoSave slide button. If it is grayed out, it is because your document does not reside on OneDrive or a SharePoint server. Move and store your document on OneDrive and the AutoSave button will become active automatically.
At File > Options > Save, you should select the option to "Save to Computer by default" and clear the option to "Show additional places for saving, even if sign-in may be required." Note that changing the default won't affect existing documents.
So, if a Microsoft Office application has grayed out the Save button, it's likely because you are trying to save a document with one or more special characters that are not allowed. Needless to say, these special characters are not allowed only in the file name. You can use them in the document content.
Answer. It is because the text is within a field. To confirm that it is a field, press Alt+F9 to toggle on the display of field codes and see if your text is enclosed within a pair of field delimiters { }. Use Alt+F9 again to toggle off the display of the field codes.
