Here's how to convert HEIC to JPG on Mac using Preview. Open any HEIC image in Preview. Click File 799 Export in the menu bar. Select JPG in the format dropdown and adjust other settings as needed. Choose Save.

If you would prefer to save all your photos automatically as JPG rather than HEIC, here's how to do so. In the Settings app, tap Camera. Tap Camera. You may need to scroll down to find Camera. Tap Formats. Tap Most Compatible to save photos automatically as JPG.
You can also right-click the file, point to the Open With menu, and then click the Preview option. In the Preview window, click the File menu and then click the Export command. In the window that pops up, select JPEG as the format and use the Quality slider to change the compression used to save the image.
Start by importing your HEIC images into Photos as usual. You can also drag images into the Photos app. Select the images you want to convert, and simply click and drag them into any Finder window. They'll automatically be converted to JPGs.
In your Settings menu, find and tap on Camera. In the Camera menu, tap on Formats at the very top of the menu. Here you can select either High Efficiency, which will allow your iPhone to shoot and store HEIC files, or Most Compatible, which will have your phone capture JPEGs.
