Well first of all business cards are relics of an era where they used to be used by people in society as well as business. They were all sorts of sizes depending on the stationery printer. Today's business card is the modern day offspring and its size was more or less established by stationery suppliers who wanted to market accessories like holders and desk sets. But there continue to be size differences based on region and market. Moo an online business card printer has at least 3 sizes to choose from. Credit cards arepletely separate animals and other than occupying a temporary spot in your wallet they have nothing inmon with business cards. Their size was dictated by a device used to transfer an imprint of the customer's name account number and expiration date onto a credit card form. When I was in college I worked in a record shop and whenever we rung up a sale we had to use this device to make an impression from the customers' credit cardsn If you're under 3 you may have lived your whole life without seeing one of these. Current technological advances will soon make credit cards themselves obsolete since it will be moremon to make purchases using chips in your smartphone or even chips implanted underneath your skin.
You can download your 3D logo in different file formats depending on your needs. If you need a format for online posting then you can download it either as a JPEG or PNG file. Or just share your design on Facebook and Twitter straight from 3D logo maker s (DesignFreeLogo) by clicking on the Share button and going to the Social tab. These are professionally created font pairings you can use as an inspiration to create your own or simply choose one customize the and use it instantly on your 3D logo design.
PDF-Portable Document Format is entirely different from the others youve asked about. It a de-facto standard for sharing documents invented and maintained by Adobe and practically every device in our personal area network can render a PDF. JPEG JPG and PNG are two of the formats because JPEG and JPG are the same format and are interchangeable in most environments. JPEG-Joint Photo Experts Group got it right with the JPG and it remains the best for getting by clumping together similar bits in the raster and representing them in abbreviated form in the binary data. The device that renders them re-builds the raster for display expanding the abbreviated form. Applied to photographs many can bepressed by 7% or more greatly reducing the file size without any or much visible loss of quality with visible blocks of pixels approximating the original format and it renders OK. JPEG uses three bytes per pixel 24 bits 1 byte each to specify the amount of Red Green and Blue are in the pixel color. PNG-Portable Network Graphics is better suited for graphics with fine lines and . PNGs can also render photographs with fine detail on a web page but the file size can be lots larger than the same and is called losslesspression. JPEG will fuzz up fine lines and lines with sharp edges with any degree ofpression. PNG doesn do much to reduce the file size of most photographs with lots of shading and details. But it excels atpressing things like PowerPoint slides or artwork with a few colors on a solid background. PNG uses three bytes to store RGB but can add an alpha byte that stores the level of opacity for that pixel allowing the background to show through for formats most browsers will render. All four of these are raster graphics that form s and mix them up with in most languages so they render more or less the same on anyputer and can usually print the document as the author intended. PDFs can also contain TIFF-Tagged Image File Format that are used to store and render higher-resolution graphics. Where the web formats are generally displayed at about 1 DPI-Dots Per Inch in browsers or phones TIFF can be 12 or more DPI to drive high-resolution printers. TIFFs can also contain data other than color about each pixel. A GEO-TIFF has GPS coordinates giving the location and elevation of each pixel and if gathered by a drone with RTK-Real Time Kinetic update and GPS rigged with ground stations can be as accurate as less than a centimeter per acre. TIFF is the ordinary format that graphics artists work with to preserve the detail and ure from the original image then they export the TIFF which has a relatively HUGE file size to the GIF JPG or PNG that will be rendered by a browser. I hope this is the kind of discussion you wanted for your answer. These have been standards for decades now and although there are some graphics formats that some say are better in some way we don see Microsoft Apple Mozilla Chrome Opera or other outfits making our browsers banding together to adopt yet another graphics format. Video formats and audio formats are each a whole nother thing

I recently had a business card print job and had to use a printer I don normally use. They were the only one that used the stock and coating I needed. I prepared my illustrator file as normal - converted all fonts to outlines then saved as High Quality (or Press) PDF. The file looked fine in preview. When I received the cards from the printer the yellow outline around the hand-drawn business name in their logo did not print. I was left with a fairly dark blue business name on a black background. When I contacted the printer they said I needed to Flatten the artwork. I tried going to the Layers menu in Illustrator selecting all and selecting Flatten (like in PS). Didn work. I tried selecting the yellow outline and the blue name and flattening - didn work. I triedbining in Paths didn work. The only way I could think of was to open the logo in Photoshop and save as a high-resolution PSD file (or PNG) with a transparent background. I placed the PSD file on the business card after removing the vector logo. All looked good. Sent file to the printer to look at. The printer said I did not flatten the PSD file to the business card and they went ahead and did that for me. The new printing of the cards came out fine. I have never had that problem with the other trade printers I use - and Ive been doing this for 28 years. Maybe I could have done the flattening in Acrobat? Sorry I can answer your question but understand your frustration. I was hoping to read a simple answer - an easy way to flatten artwork in Illustrator. So far the answers have been work-a-rounds. If necessary open the AI file in Photoshop at 3 dpi or higher (I usually use 35 dpi) double check all looks fine flatten it in PS if ites in as a layer and not as a background. Send the printer the extremely large PSD file. Good luck!
It depends on a lot including what file the scanner gave you? Make sure you keep the original file so a Save As with anything you try If it a PDF see if the scanner app will output png or jpg or figure out how to get the graphic out of it. If it scanned at high resolution like 3 dpi or higher try scanning it at 1 dpi. If it a jpg or png trypressing it. Open it with a capable photo editor like GIMP or Photoshop. Use the editor Export or Save As feature and it will give you thepression dialog. If it a jpg try 7%pression and that sometimes dramatically reduces the file size without any noticeable effect on quality. If it a png it always safe to use the highest level ofpression usually 9. If it on a uniform white background itllpress a lot of size away. If it scanned as a color document the background might have too much ure andpression will have little effect on size so it might be better to scan it as line art or . PNGpression wonpress the quality out That 5 MByte limit for graphics attached to email is sometimes a toughie for students so I always ask for them to submit their stuff as attachments to email. If they can get it to me they won be able to get it to a lot of the head-hunters that might be interested
